Imagine, if only for a moment...

Pushing through the cobwebs of nostalgia, you've come to find a dusty room. The dusty rose wallpaper has long since yellowed with time, the fixtures hanging upon the walls covered in layers of dirt and grime. There are places where reality itself seems to peel with the wallpaper. On the farside of the room, you see an incredibly lifelike doll.

"I've been waiting for you."

About Me

Hello! My name is Dolores, although most everyone calls me Lola. Welcome to my lovely corner of the internet. Like many other people who host their websites here, I've become sadened and disillusioned by the modern internet. Everything is comodified and sterile, with little to no room for customization or personality. I've been inspired by many other personal pages that I've stumbled across while browsing the lolita fashion related tags. I intend for this website to be a mishmash of all my interests, with a generally romantic, nostalgic vaneer. I'm a big proponate of romantisizing ones own life, and that's exactly what I intend to do.

Thanks to those who have inspired me, those who have given me such a warm welcome to the community, and those who are simply watching my webpage as it unfurls. Stay tuned for some banners and links from my favorite pages and some webrings.

Music

Emilie Autumn, Amanda Palmer, Will Wood, Steam Powered Giraffe, Malice Mizer, Ghost, Fish in a Birdcage, Hannah Fury, and a lot more. My music taste started developing in highschool, and I've just added more and more bands to it since.

Movies

I feel like Kamikaze Girls is obvious. I also, probably sterotypically, have a fondness for the Disney Animated Alice in Wonderland. My favorite director is Guillermo del Toro, and my absolute favorite movie of all time is Crimson Peak. It has absolutely everything I love about fiction. It was practically made for me.

Books

Funilly enough, Lolita is one of my favorite books. As someone who's experienced childhood trauma similar to the titular character, I really related to her. To the point where it took my name from her. Outside of that, I like Wuthering Heights, Frakenstien, and Great Expectations. My favorite author is Neil Gaiman, and my favorite book by him is probably split between Good Omens and Neverwhere. I'm trying to be generally more well read going forward, so hopefully I can expand on this list.

Musicals

Hadestown, Sweeney Todd, and Six are my current favorites. I love the music from Phantom of the Opera and Wicked, but I'm not a fan of the changes they made to the original stories. I also have a fondness for Heathers.

Anime

Death Note was the first anime I ever finished, and I need to rewatch it. I also have soft spot for Naruto, as it was my first real fandom. I also love Witch Hunter Robin, Wolves Rain, Sailor Moon, Pretear, Paradise Kiss, and Jellyfish Princess.

As you can see, my interests are incredibly eclectic and varied.
